Dr. Kim Neff brings over two decades of diverse veterinary expertise to North Georgia Veterinary Specialists, having graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Her comprehensive medical foundation began with equine medicine and surgery, where she developed the precision and adaptability essential for complex veterinary procedures.
Recognizing the value of integrative medicine, Dr. Neff expanded her clinical capabilities through specialized certifications in acupuncture from The Chi Institute (2007) and animal chiropractic through the AVCA (2008). These alternative medicine qualifications enable her to provide comprehensive treatment options that address pain management and mobility challenges through both traditional and holistic approaches.
In 2010, Dr. Neff transitioned her focus to small animal medicine and surgery while maintaining her alternative medicine practice. This evolution allowed her to combine her surgical expertise with complementary therapies, offering pet owners innovative treatment protocols for their companions' health challenges.
Her commitment to advancing veterinary rehabilitation led to her 2016 certification in animal rehabilitation, with specialized focus on sports medicine and geriatrics. This expertise proved instrumental when she joined NGVS in 2017, coinciding with the launch of our Rehabilitation and Performance Center, where she helps pets recover from injuries and maintain optimal mobility throughout their lives.
Dr. Neff has become an essential member of our urgent and emergency care team, bringing her unique perspective and diverse skill set to critical care situations. Her background in rehabilitation medicine provides valuable insights for emergency cases requiring immediate stabilization and long-term recovery planning.
Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Neff shares her passion for animal performance with her daughter Sydney through competitive dog agility. This hands-on experience with canine athletics enhances her understanding of sports medicine applications in veterinary practice. Her professional dedication extends to industry leadership, having served on the AVCA Board of Directors since 2008, contributing to the advancement of animal chiropractic standards and education.
Dr. Neff's integration of traditional veterinary medicine, alternative therapies, and rehabilitation expertise ensures comprehensive care for pets requiring specialized medical attention and performance optimization.
