Dr. Katie Surdyk received her DVM
Degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine at
Tuskegee University in 1999. She completed a 1-year
internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at
SouthPaws in Springfield, Virginia. Dr. Surdyk spent
time in private practice in Alabama and California
before pursuing a medicine residency. She entered a
five year medicine residency and PhD program in 2002
at the University of Georgia. Upon completion of her
medicine residency, Dr. Surdyk finished her PhD degree
in Physiology and pursed further training in oncology
at the University of Georgia.
Dr. has a strong background in
teaching and research. She has numerous publications
in refereed journal and proceedings. She has also
given presentations at state and national levels. She
enjoys communicating with clients and their referring
veterinarian and encourages team work and partnership
in the management of her patients.
Dr.
Katie Surdyk has worked for the past couple of years
in private referral practices, managing a diverse
internal medicine and oncology case load. Her
interests also include biking, running and spending
time with her family and her own pets (Goldens and a
Maine Coon cat).
